Shetland Star cardigan Knitting Pattern

Shetland Star cardigan

Pattern Description

This pattern supplements “The Fine Art of Fair Isle with Shetland’s Hazel Tindall”, which is available as a download or DVD. Each step is demonstrated in the DVD/download and skills shown can easily be used with other knitting projects.

Fair Isle cardigan with straight sides and an optional small pocket – or two. This pattern uses double knitting yarn to make it easier to see when filmed. In the film the cardigan is knitted following Shetland tradition using double pointed needles with a knitting belt and a raepin string. Circular knitting needles can be used.
